Major additions this year include AI Video Calls with Lily for real-time speaking practice, scenario-based Roleplay, Speaking Adventures available to all users, B2-level advanced content in nine languages, Focus Mode to block distractions during lessons, and the Explain My Answer feature now free for everyone.

Over 40 languages, ranging from widely studied ones like Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean to less common options like Hawaiian, Navajo, and High Valyrian. Course depth varies — Spanish and French have the most advanced content, while newer languages may cover beginner levels only.

Duolingo is strong for building vocabulary, grammar foundations, and a daily study habit. With 2026's B2-level content and AI conversation tools, it now covers more advanced skills too.
