With Varka's Day 1 banner revenue ranking among the top Nod-Krai characters in version 6.4, version 6.5 brings the final puzzle piece of the Lunar-Crystallize meta — Linnea. Add two new maps, three rerun banners, a Fontaine Chronicled Wish, and free-to-play players can expect to earn roughly 10,000–11,000 free Primogems — making this a particularly generous patch.

This article covers everything you need to know about version 6.5: release schedule, banner lineup, Linnea highlights, new maps, endgame updates, and pull strategy.

Version 6.5 Banner Lineup

Based on the 6.5 Special Program livestream, version 6.5 will feature four 5-star characters across its event wish banners. The 4-star character lineup has not yet been confirmed. Notably, this version also introduces a Fontaine Chronicled Wish banner featuring Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne along with their signature weapons — a major opportunity for players who missed key Fontaine characters.

Phase 1 Character Analysis

  • Linnea (New) — The centerpiece of this version. Dubbed the "Lunar-Crystallize version of Lauma," she fills the long-missing support slot in Lunar-Crystallize team compositions. For Zibai owners, she is essentially a must-pull. For a detailed breakdown of Linnea's kit, builds, and team comps, check out the Linnea Build Guide.
  • Chasca (Rerun) — A 5-star Anemo Bow DPS known for high single-target damage through Charged Attacks, with excellent returns from Constellations and her signature weapon. The Stygian Onslaught boss Tenebrous Papilla is vulnerable to Imbued Windborne, giving Chasca strong endgame synergy this patch.

Phase 2 Character Analysis

  • Lauma (Rerun) — A 5-star Dendro Catalyst character and one of Nod-Krai's finest supports. She enables Lunar-Bloom reactions, reduces Dendro and Hydro resistance, and provides powerful off-field Dendro damage. Her healing is unlocked at C1, significantly boosting her investment value, and her synergy with Nefer is best-in-class.
  • Nefer (Rerun) — A 5-star Dendro Catalyst hypercarry built around Lunar-Bloom. Pulling her alongside Lauma instantly completes a Lunar-Bloom team, making this a highly efficient banner for players targeting that composition.

Fontaine Chronicled Wish

Version 6.5 also features a Fontaine Chronicled Wish banner running for the entirety of the patch. Featured 5-star characters include Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne, along with their signature weapons. This is a great opportunity for players who missed key Fontaine characters, but be mindful of your Primogem budget — this banner competes directly with Linnea and the Phase 2 reruns.

New Character: Linnea Overview

RoleSub-DPS + Healer (Lunar-Crystallize Specialist Support)
Base DEF907 (Core DEF-scaling character)
Ascension BonusCRIT Rate +19.2%
OriginNod-Krai / Snowland Fae / Adventurers' Guild Advisor

Linnea was introduced in official drip marketing under the title Augur of Wonders — a Nod-Krai character affiliated with the Snowland Fae, serving as an advisor to the Adventurers' Guild. As one of the immortal fae created by the artisans of Hyperborea, her background as a non-human living within human society gives her a uniquely compelling narrative.

According to her official profile, to Linnea the world is a place of endless possibility — one that fits no field guide and defies every classification — and that is precisely why she never stops traveling. Cheerful and energetic in contrast to Flins's reserved demeanor, she has already been mentioned in voice lines for Aino and Ineffa.

Kit Summary

Linnea's kit revolves around her companion "Lumi." Activating her Elemental Skill summons Lumi, who continuously deals off-field Geo AoE damage. Chaining the skill evolves Lumi, triggering a powerful Lunar-Crystallize burst hit. Her Elemental Burst heals the entire party, scaling with DEF.

Key passives at a glance:

  • Reaction Conversion: Hydro Crystallize → Lunar-Crystallize (automatic)
  • Geo RES Shred: Up to 30% (up to 50% with Geo Resonance)
  • Elemental Mastery Buff: Grants Lunar-Marked characters 5% of Linnea's DEF as EM
  • Field Catalog Stacks: Lunar-Crystallize hits generate stacks, adding DEF-scaled bonus damage

For Constellations, if your budget is limited, C2 offers the best return on investment. After Lunar Cage Harmony triggers, Hydro and Geo characters gain CRIT DMG +40%, and Lumi's Megatonne Hammer gains CRIT DMG +150% — fundamentally transforming team DPS output.

Signature Weapon: Golden Frostbound Oath

Linnea's signature 5-star Bow, Golden Frostbound Oath, is featured on the Phase 1 weapon banner alongside Chasca's Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage. For F2P players, a Favonius Warbow remains a serviceable alternative.

Story Quest: Alcyon Chapter Act 1

Linnea comes with her own Story Quest — Alcyon Chapter: Act 1 — which will be available upon the launch of Version 6.5. This quest delves deeper into her story and her connection to the Adventurers' Guild.

New Maps in 6.5

Version 6.5 adds two brand-new explorable regions, shaping up to be the most exploration-rich patch since 2024. It's another reminder of why Genshin consistently tops best mobile RPG lists with its world-building ambition. While 2025 was somewhat light on exploration (only three new zones across versions 5.5, 5.8, and 6.0), 2026 has delivered three consecutive major map additions from 6.3 through 6.5.

Dornman Port

Genshin Impact 6.5 Dornman Port Map Layout

A port city of Mondstadt that has been referenced in-game since the early days of Genshin Impact — but never actually explorable. Six years after launch, Mondstadt is finally receiving a brand-new explorable zone. Dornman Port functions as Mondstadt's primary commercial trade hub.

  • Features a dedicated Offering system and exploration compass — structured reward framework
  • Detailed harbor map layout: docks, moored ships, coastal settlement, windmill structures
  • New World Quests and NPC factions expected
  • Excellent Primogem farming opportunity ahead of the banner
  • New World Boss: Watcher: Fallen Vigil — located in Dornman Port, drops Linnea's ascension materials

Temple of Space

Genshin Impact 6.5 Temple of Space Map Overview

The second new map is the Temple of Space, a standalone region that has generated extraordinary hype. Structurally similar to Enkanomiya or the Chasm's underground — a self-contained area with its own entrance and distinct atmosphere. This area is also depicted on the game's login screen, making Version 6.5 feel like a full-circle moment.

In Genshin's lore, Asmoday is one of four Shades created by the Primordial One — specifically the Shade of Space. Deeply connected to the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles encountered at the very start of the game, the Temple of Space serves as Asmoday's personal collection of valuable items from across Teyvat. This map has a strong chance of serving as a pivotal turning point in the overarching story.

  • Features areas focusing on different civilizations, with a closer step toward Asmoday's reality
  • Multi-layered map design emphasizing vertical exploration
  • Access unlocked through exploration of the abandoned sanatorium at the peak of Dornman Port

Endgame Content Updates

Some boss names have not yet received official localization and are listed here using their beta English names.

Spiral Abyss

The 6.5 rotation goes live with the reset on April 16, 2026.

Floor 12 Buffs:

  • First Half: Lunar-Crystallize reaction DMG +75% → directly favors Linnea + Zibai compositions
  • Second Half: Normal/Charged Attack DMG +75% → suited for on-field carries like Chasca and Yoimiya

The 12-3 first half boss, Radiant Moongecko, is vulnerable to Lunar-Crystallize and Geo DMG, making it the perfect showcase for Linnea teams. The second half's Tenebrous Papilla is weak to Imbued Windborne and rapid elemental hits — Chasca's time to shine.

Stygian Onslaught

Expected to begin around April 15. This season's boss roster:

Tenebrous PapillaRapid Elemental Hits / Imbued WindborneChasca and Natlan characters favored

Each of the three bosses demands a different team archetype, giving players with diverse rosters a meaningful advantage.

Events and Free Rewards

Version 6.5 features several events, with the flagship being "Where Waves Meet the Reef" — a trading event set in Nod-Krai. Completing this event rewards players with a free Jahoda, along with weapon ascension materials, Mora, and furnishings.

Free-to-play players can expect to collect approximately 77 Intertwined Fates (around 10,000–11,000 Primogems) over the course of Version 6.5. The addition of two new exploration zones makes this a comparatively generous patch.

Looking Ahead: Version 6.6 and Beyond

Version 6.6 is shaping up to be the core update for the Hexerei meta. Nicole, a 5-star Pyro Sword character expected to be Varka's ideal partner, is slated to make her debut, with a Durin rerun also teased. There is also a possibility that Lohen joins the roster.

Further down the road, the full Mare Jivari map is expected to unlock starting from version 7.0. Following the conclusion of the Snezhnaya chapter, rumors of a next major phase — commonly referred to as "Genshin 2" — are also circulating in the community.

Conclusion

Version 6.5 introduces only one new character — but that character is Linnea, the linchpin that completes the Lunar-Crystallize meta. For players who have invested in Zibai, Linnea is effectively a must-pull. For those eyeing Lunar-Bloom, the simultaneous rerun of Lauma and Nefer is a rare and efficient opportunity not to be missed. And if you missed key Fontaine characters, the Chronicled Wish banner adds another reason to spend wisely this patch.

On the exploration front, the addition of two major maps — Dornman Port and the Temple of Space — ensures this patch will be rich in both Primogem farming and story content. Don't miss the new World Boss (Watcher: Fallen Vigil), the flagship event "Where Waves Meet the Reef" for a free Jahoda, and Linnea's Story Quest (Alcyon Chapter: Act 1).

Start saving your Primogems now, pre-farm Linnea's ascension materials, and get ready for April 8.

FAQ

When does version 6.5 release?

It is scheduled for April 8, 2026, and runs until May 19, 2026. Since version 6.4 Phase 2 ends on April 7, the update is expected to go live the following day after server maintenance.

Is Linnea worth pulling as a free-to-play player?

At C0, all of her core support functions — resistance shred, reaction conversion, healing, and EM buffing — are fully operational. A Favonius Warbow is sufficient for her weapon slot. That said, her performance jumps significantly at C1 and above, so at least one Constellation is recommended if resources allow.

Should I pull Linnea even if I don't have Zibai?

Even without Zibai, Linnea offers meaningful upgrades for Geo DPS like Navia or Noelle — the "Noelle Revival Team" has been generating real buzz. That said, her peak performance does require Zibai. If Lunar-Crystallize meta isn't your focus, skipping 6.5 and waiting for Nicole in 6.6 is a perfectly reasonable call.

Do I need both Lauma and Nefer?

If you plan to run a Lunar-Bloom team, pulling both is ideal. Their roles are clearly defined — Lauma as support/sub-DPS and Nefer as the main carry — and their synergy is exceptional. If you can only choose one, Lauma has broader utility (healing unlocked at C1).

What about the Fontaine Chronicled Wish?

The Fontaine Chronicled Wish runs for the entirety of Version 6.5 and features Lyney, Emilie, Clorinde, Navia, and Sigewinne along with their signature weapons. It's a great catch-up banner, but be careful with Primogem allocation — pulling here competes directly with Linnea and the Phase 2 reruns.

Is the Temple of Space time-limited content?

Based on current information, it is expected to be permanent content. The structure appears similar to Enkanomiya or the Chasm's underground — a standalone map accessed through the Dornman Port area. However, this is not officially confirmed yet.

How many free Primogems can I earn in version 6.5?

Free-to-play players are estimated to earn approximately 77 Intertwined Fates (around 10,000–11,000 Primogems). This includes rewards from exploring two new maps, events (including the flagship "Where Waves Meet the Reef"), Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater, and Stygian Onslaught. Since a guaranteed 5-star (180 wishes) costs roughly 28,800 Primogems, it's best to plan around combining this with your existing stockpile.

When is the 6.5 Special Livestream?

It was held on March 27, 2026. The livestream revealed Linnea's official gameplay, finalized banner information, the Fontaine Chronicled Wish, and three promo codes (LinneaClassTime, TempleofSpace, Scaleblade) worth a combined 300 Primogems. Note: these codes expired on March 30, 2026.
